In 2003 Finesse Mitchell was asked to be a feature player on NBC’s "Saturday Night Live." In 2005 he was promoted to cast member. Long before Finesse became a cast member on "Saturday Night Live," he made quite an impact in the world of stand-up comedy. His witty sense of humor, southern charm, and stage presence makes him one of the brightest young stars on the comedy horizon.
Finesse was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and is a graduate of the University of Miami. As a former student athlete (a walk-on for the University of Miami Hurricane football team) he played two years with other Hurricane Alumni like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Warren Sapp. He is also a brother of Kappa Alpha Psi and admits playing football and performing in college step shows help fostered his ability to feel comfortable performing in the spotlight.
Finesse got his first television appearance on BET’s "Comic View" in 1999 where he instantly became a favorite among the shows loyal following. Shortly after he moved to Los Angeles, he appeared on NBC’s "Late Friday," had three appearances on "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn" and destroyed the stage when he was asked to do Comedy Central’s "Premium Blend." After moving to New York to become a player on "SNL," he also had two appearances as a guest on "Late Night with Conan O’Brien." Finesse is now headlining the best comedy clubs on the circuit and is always in high demand at universities and colleges across the country. His first stand-up comedy DVD entitled, "Snap Famous" which is produced by Quincy Jones’s son, QD3, (creator of Hip Hop’s “Beef” series) will be out Fall 2006. Finesse is also a guest writer and has a his own column in the works at Essence magazine giving “relationship advice” to over 1 million subscribers. Finesse is also in the processing of completing his first book entitled, Your Girlfriends Only Know So Much, a book which gives dating advice to African-American women, in bookstores in 2007.

Mitchell released his comedy DVD Snap Famous and recently completed his first book, Your Girlfriend Only Know So Much. He is also a successful columnist, offering sincere and honest relationship advice in Essence magazine. In 2007, he starred in the Dimension Films comedy Who's Your Caddy?, Fox Atomic's The Comebacks, and Overture Film's Mad Money.
