ABOUT

Kenice Mobley is a stand-up comedian and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. Kenice was a host for the VICE News series Complexify and made her late-night debut performing stand-up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She also worked on the 2020 BET Awards and wrote on By Us, For Us, a comedy sketch show for ColorofChange.org. Her debut album Follow Up Question was featured as one of Paste Magazine’s best comedy albums of the year. Kenice was a finalist in the 2019 StandUpNBC showcase and was included on Vulture’s 2021 list of Comedians You Should Know.

Kenice Mobley has always been a bit depressed, going so far as to plan her funeral when she was a kid. For years, she worked hard to fix the urge to end her life. Then her body tried to kill her with a stroke. Don’t Kill Yourself Yet traces a path from justifiable sadness, reasons to stay alive, and what it means to live a life worth living. Heralded by the Boston Globe as “funny... always frank,” this comedic solo show was part of this year's Netflix is a Joke festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.​

It was great! The crowd was a great turnout for what we were expecting and all the students enjoyed Kenice's performance. She was great performing and she was so nice when talking to her. Travel and getting to the event seemed to go smoothly so overall it was a great time.
